State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam and his Indian counterpart MJ Akbar also pitched for “collective efforts” of the countries of the region for ensuring economic progress and development.

Both of them were discussing the terrorism issue in the opening session of the ‘Indian Geoeconomic Dialogue’ in Mumbai on Monday, the foreign ministry said.

The Indian Ministry of External Affairs and the Mumbai-based think-tank ‘Gateway House’ jointly organised the dialogue.
They also discussed bilateral issues on the sidelines where they hoped that “the two Prime Ministers, with their visionary leadership, would take the current relationship to a new height and ensure overall peace and prosperity of the people”.

Earlier in the day, the State Minister visited the World Trade Center (WTC) in Mumbai, where he was received by the President of All India Association of Industries (AIAI) Vijay Kalantri and high officials of WTC.

Deputy High Commissioner to Mumbai Samina Naz and senior officials from Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied the minister during the meetings.

We wish these two countries can work together and stop this problem once for all.
